Agree is a Bible word that understates what is really required for prayers to be answered.
Consider MattihYahoo {incorrectly Matthew} 18:19 Yahooshua speaking “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” NKJV
The Amplified Bible elaborates: “Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of Yah], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” Amplified Bible, name adjusted
Note “agree” “one mind, in harmony”
Referring to the Interlinear we see the Greek for agree is συμφωνήσωσιν (symphōnēsōsin) Strong’s Greek “4856. Sumphóneó” “sumphóneó: To agree, to be in harmony, to be of one mind” see https://biblehub.com/greek/4856.htm
Searching on Google we fine “The root sumphoneo serves as the basis for the English word "symphony”
Thus we see that what Yahooshua is referring to is a level of alignment that goes far beyond the English “agree” – it is essentially saying “of one mind, in perfect harmony, singing the same song in the same key!”
This is a huge reason why so-called “prayers in agreement” are not answered – the parties are not in perfect accord and perfect harmony.
The counterpoint to this is Mark 3:25 and Luke 11:17, Yahooshua speaking “ 24 If a kingdom is divided [split into factions and rebelling] against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Amplified Bible
So we see that a house that is NOT in sumphoneo is divided and will fall!
It is therefore vital that a marital house is in perfect sumphoneo, that a ministry is in sumphoneo, that the leadership of an organisation is in sumphoneo, that a nation is in sumphoneo – in each case, such an entity will prosper and be in health when it is in sumphoneo and it will crumble and fall if it is divided.
This is particularly relevant in the case of a covenant relationship between a man and woman or women {marriage} – consider 1 Kepha {incorrectly Peter} 3:7 “In the same way, you husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way [with great gentleness and tact, and with an intelligent regard for the marriage relationship], as with someone physically weaker, since she is a woman. Show her honor and respect as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered or ineffective.” In other words dwell together in sumphoneo or else your prayers will be hindered and your house will fall!
Conclusion
If you are part of an entity that is NOT prospering and you are “praying in agreement” but NOT in sumphoneo, you now know why!
This article corrects the widespread tendency to regard superficial “agreement” as sufficient for prayers to be answered” when, in fact what is needed is sumphoneo – of one mind, in perfect harmony, singing the same song, with the same music in the same key!
