Context
A few days ago I was contacted by someone who asked me to comment on Genesis 14:18 to 20:

This request to elaborate on Abram’s tithe to Melchizedek brought me to confront a reality in terms of what I have been teaching for quite a few years, see “Tithing today is NOT from Yah” at https://www.eti-ministries.org/tithes
This caused me to confront a paradox in my own ministry – I believe that I AM teaching truth and leading those who follow my teachings closer to Yah. Yet, my ministry is currently constrained in what I can do with a fixed salary and despite this I have great ambition as discussed later in this article.
This situation came about because of my experience in the Charismatic Christian church in the years after I made an intense commitment to serving Father Yah as a Christian. The church that I was taken to in March 1993 strongly advocated tithing on the basis that if the congregation gave to the church which was misrepresented as “The House of God” Yah would prosper them. I started tithing and giving offerings on a very strong and consistent basis and yet I did NOT prosper.

Partly I had major spiritual issues that the church was ignorant of and that I had to figure out for myself through intense prayer and questioning, summarized in July 1998 in the ebooklet “Poverty in the Church of Jesus Christ: A discourse on contributory factors (based on personal experience)” at https://www.eti-ministries.org/ETI%20Messages/2001/03_March/Poverty_V25.PDF this was my first attempt at writing about what I was learning and my understanding has evolved greatly since writing this but the basic principles remain valid – there are all sorts of factors which get in the way of receiving blessings from Yah.
Then, majorly, the reason that my tithes and offerings were not bearing fruit was that the church was, in fact, in serious error and so I was yoking myself to that error and the associated curses because I had revelation that the church lacked.
This, sadly, is the BIG issue as to why people who are truly seeking to serve Yah (generally as God, The LORD, etc) are NOT financially blessed despite giving to the Church, Synagogue, Mosque, Temple or whatever. The assembly and teacher/s have unresolved sin and issues, are in serious error and the result is that the person giving is yoked to an institution that is in serious error and is holding them in bondage! Having realized that the church was in serious error I finally left organized religion progressively from about 1997 through to about 1999 when I finally ceased almost all contact with formal church organizations. Throughout this period I gave tithes (tenths) to people who were in ministry in the informal diaspora. In addition, I was persuaded by a particular teaching to tithe on the income to my business AND on my drawings from the business, until I eventually realized that since I was a one man professional service business and since BOTH tithes were ultimately taxed in my hands I was giving away 19% of my income BEFORE TAX at my marginal tax rate such this had become unsustainable.
At this point I also realized that I was walking in greater revelation and truth than those I was giving to and hence was bringing myself under a curse. So I ceased tithing and focused on growing End Time Issue Ministries, investing time and money in growing the ministry, something that I continue to do to this day where I fund the hosting of the websites, professional services in support of the websites, the broadcasts and the mailing lists all of which are funded out of my personal earnings which are now based on a fixed salary.

My Ambition
My ambition is as follows:
- Websites
Create further websites in at least five other languages with all the main articles off the current English website at https://www.eti-ministries.org. Provisionally this would be:
- Hebrew
- Spanish
- Mandarin
- Hindi
- Arabic
- And possibly others – French, Russian, Bengali?
This will require finances for creating and hosting the websites and then fees for translation of all the main articles – probably about 100 articles in each language.
- Broadcasts
Broadcast in English on at least ten to twenty additional channels and then broadcast in the same languages as the websites.
- Email Lists and Emailing
Email weekly to millions of email addresses in English and then grow that to millions of emails in the same languages as the website.
- Social Media and Search Engine Optimization
Promote the website and ministry on Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etcetera far beyond what I am doing at the moment – pay for professional services and possibly pay-per-click advertising.Further do this in the same languages as the website.
- Books
Print and distribute thousands of copies of the bookset or at least the core books see “Book Set -- Compilation of Most Writings” at https://www.eti-ministries.org/compilation-of-most-writings Further create books with the publications since May 2019 which are the most mature consolidation of my knowledge relating to Father Yah. Translate the core books into at least the same languages as the website and print and distribute thousands of copies.
Achieving all the above will require very considerable finances, far beyond what I can generate myself.I have a vision to commercialize my strategic planning software and method that Father Yah has helped me to develop but this will take time and may not generate all the finances necessary to realize my ambition.Hence I have now concluded that I should approach the people on my mailing list to ask them to consider giving Tithes and Offerings to End Time Issue Ministries.

There is a law of sowing and reaping in both the natural and the spiritual realms. And it's a law that works! Yet from my experience, more people fail when it comes to faith for finances than for anything else. The reason is that they're trying to exercise faith for finances, but they haven't planted any seed!
They want God to bless their finances even though they haven't sown anything.
The Bible plainly states, "GIVE, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete [measure] withal it shall be measured to you again" (Luke 6:38).
The Bible also plainly says, "He which SOWETH sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" (2 Cor. 9:6). If you want a bountiful crop, you've got to sow bountifully.
You can't reap a crop without sowing seed. You can't go out into your backyard and say, "I'm going to pick some tomatoes," if the ground hasn't been prepared and the seed sown.
The first step, then, toward getting your financial needs met is to obey the Bible.
MALACHI 3:10
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
God said we are to bring our tithes—10 percent of our income—into the storehouse, and in return He will open up the windows of Heaven. "Prove me now herewith," he said.
So just go ahead and obey the Bible in the area of finances. Pay your tithes and give offerings. Act on God's Word in faith, and God will bless you because He's faithful and true to His Word.
Then beyond cooperating with God's laws concerning tithing and giving offerings, be open to receive further light from His Word concerning giving to others. Also, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, Who will very often direct you specifically to give.
Now don't do something just because somebody else did. Don't operate on someone else's experience. Operate on what you know the Bible says, and operate on what the Holy Spirit is saying to you.
You don't have to have any "leading" to pay tithes and give offerings. You don't need to be led to give and sow. The Bible tells you to do those things, so just do them. But when you get out beyond that, it's when you obey the Spirit of God that things happen.
Start where you are. Be faithful to obey the Word by paying your tithes and giving offerings. And be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit when He directs you specifically to give. You can't out-give God. If you sow seeds bountifully in faith and obedience, you will reap an abundant harvest of blessings!
Appendix B: To Tithe or Not To Tithe? by Kenneth E Hagin

From time to time over the years, people have asked me if the practice of tithing is still valid for the Church today. “The New Testament really says very little about it,” they say. “Should ministers preach and encourage tithing with so little New Testament information on the subject? Should Christians be bound by the Old Testament Law?”
It is true; there is very little mention of tithing in the New Testament. Only the Gospels of Matthew and Luke report incidents of Jesus speaking about the tithe. In the following instance, Jesus clearly affirmed His belief in the practice of tithing.
Matthew 23:23 (TLB)
23 Yes, woe upon you, Pharisees, and you other religious leader’s hypocrites! For you tithe down to the last mint leaf in your garden, but ignore the important things justice and mercy and faith. Yes, you should tithe, but you shouldn’t leave the more important things undone.
Jesus upbraided the hypocritical religious leaders of His day for ignoring important parts of the Law. They ignored such things as justice, mercy, and faith. Instead, they meticulously paid the tithe they owed down to the last leaf in their gardens. Jesus was saying that giving money doesn’t take the place of living right. God is not as interested in a person’s money as He is in the individual’s heart. But Jesus did say that a person should tithe.
The majority of biblical references to the tithe are clearly part of the Old Covenant. However, tithing was not introduced under the Law. It was merely regulated under the Law. Tithing originated as an act of faith. And faith transcends both the Old and New Covenants! And “by faith” is how we should tithe today—not as an act of legalism, but as an act of faith.
Genesis chapter 14 tells us how Abram paid tithes to Melchizedek, king of Salem. However, Abram lived four hundred years before the time of Moses and the Law Obviously; he did not pay tithes by legalistic requirement because he lived before the Law. Isaac and Jacob also lived before the Law and paid tithes (Gen. 18:19-20; 28:22).
By faith, Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek, the priest of the Most High God. We see this in the Book of Hebrews, which also tells us that, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant” (Heb. 7:22 NIV).
Galatians chapter three makes some crucially important statements.
Galatians 3:11-14
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
This passage says that we’re to live by faith. Should we pay tithes today? Absolutely! But we should pay them in the same way Abraham paid them—not by the Law, but by faith. And besides that, the people of God paid 10 percent before the Law and 10 percent under the Law. Should we, who live by grace, be doing any less when we have a better covenant?
Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek, who was a type of Christ. And Abraham received the blessing, which was threefold—spiritual, physical, and material (or financial). Because we are redeemed from the curse of the Law by the sacrifice of Christ, we have received the blessing of Abraham—spiritually, physically, and financially.
We, then, by faith follow the example of Abraham in paying tithes. We pay our tithes unto Christ! The Bible says that when God raised Jesus from the dead, He gave Him to be the Head over all things to the Church, which is His Body (Eph. 1:22-23). When we pay tithes to Christ, the Head, they flow to His Body, the Church. Do you see it? Through the Church, we have the great privilege of giving to Jesus to do His will and work.
I believe if every Christian would be faithful in tithing and giving, there would be more than enough funds for the Church to carry out its mission in the world. Researchers have found that amazingly few born-again Americans tithe regularly. And a surprisingly large number give nothing! Imagine what could be accomplished if all Christians were faithful in their tithing and giving!
Just think how much more your church could be doing to minister in your city, in your community, in our nation, and around the world if more funds were available. Suppose your church’s income was suddenly multiplied by four. It would have a much greater impact in reaching more souls, helping more people in need, and financing more missionaries.
Through tithing and giving offerings, we can be a part of what God is doing in the world today. Our motive and purpose for giving should be pure and unselfish.
1. We should give because we love God. Giving is a natural expression of love. John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He gave.” And we should do the same; we should give to God because we love Him.
2. We should give to God in obedience to His Word. The Bible teaches us to give to the Lord and support His work. In addition to the scriptures we’ve already examined, there are many others that are unmistakable in their instruction about giving.
3. We should give as a means to help carry out Christ’s Great Commission. By giving to the Church, we will support the work of those who are going into all the world with the Gospel.
4. We should give because we want to see people blessed. Our tithes and gifts help support outreaches of the local church. Our financial gifts also help those who minister to the poor, evangelize the lost, and build up the saints while equipping them for Christian service.
5 .And, finally, way down the line, we should give in expectancy. We should believe God to honor the promises in His Word to bless and prosper us.
Notice that I have listed five reasons to give. I believe the order of this list reflects priorities that are very important. It seems to me that many preachers are overemphasizing number five on the list and presenting that as the major reason for people to give.
Nevertheless, giving is a tried and proven way to plant seeds for a harvest. This will result in our needs being met. The law of sowing and reaping does apply in the area of personal finances. The Bible is true when it says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom . . .” (Luke 6:38).
All of these are good and valid reasons for giving. And I believe they will lead to true prosperity—spirit, soul, and body.

The Almighty Creator Desires a DEEP Personal Relationship with YOU
If you die as an Unbeliever your spirit will live for a very long time as a disembodied Ancestor Spirit or Demon -- the Creator has said regarding Unbelievers "why would I want someone to spend Eternity with me when they do NOT Believe I exist?”
If you die as a Believer without any form of relationship with the Creator you will end up in the Outer Darkness – a cold, black, terrible place with weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth (your teeth) – the trash heap of Heaven – Father has said concerning such Believers “why would I want someone to be close to me in Heaven, which inherently means I will give them great prestige and authority, if they do NOT have a deep personal relationship with me and have NOT proven to me that they can be trusted in this life?”
In stark contrast -- IF you make a real effort to seek relationship with the Almighty the rewards in the Life to Come are HUGE – a glorious resurrected body, great prestige, great authority and a permanent close relationship with the Creator AND with Yahooshua {who you may mistakenly know as Jesus}
To put this all in context the Almighty has said "I created Human beings, this planet and this universe for men and women to be my Friends, my companions, to explore and learn and develop together, my greatest grief is that almost NO person understands this let alone seeks such a relationship with me!“
