It provides further confirmation of the extent of the darkness that is come upon the earth.

WHY AMERICA IS ONE MANIFESTATION OF BABYLON

There has been a lot of discussion recently about whether America is or is not Babylon, and will or will not be destroyed. There is convincing evidence on both sides of the argument, but it appears that the bulk of the evidence indicates that America either is Babylon, or at least is one manifestation of Babylon, and will be destroyed.

Babylon is a system

In order to understand Babylon, we need to remember that Israelite worship is as much an Eastern religion as it is a Western one. That is to say, YHWH worship was the original worship, just as Hebrew (or Edenics) was the original language, from which all other languages (and religions) spun off. Thus a Middle Eastern religion is somewhat a blend (if you will) of Western and Eastern religions.

In Eastern thought, events in the outer world reflect events in the inner world, and vice-versa. That is to say that there is spiritual significance to any and every action we take in the outer world. There is no proper understanding of the Scriptures apart from this maxim.

Say what?

If the Promised Land of Israel is a land where spiritual values are supposed to prevail over material ("worldly") values, then Babylon is the opposite. Babylon is the world where material concerns prevail over the spiritual.

Just as Day needs Night to define it, the Promised Land of Spiritual Rectitude is indefinable without a counterposing Babylon. Babylon is the antithesis of the Promised Land, thereby defining the Promised Land.

Wild.

Avraham was called out of Babylon at Bereshith (Genesis) 12:1-3

12:1 And YHWH said to Avram, "Go yourself out of your land (Babylon), from your relatives and from your father's house, to a land which I show you. [2] And I shall make you a great nation, and bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing! [3] And I shall bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you. And in you, all the clans of the earth shall be blessed."

When Avram (later to be called Avraham) left Babylon, Ur of the Chaldees, he was not only leaving behind the physical land of Babylon, but he was also leaving behind the perverted spiritual system that valued material goods and wealth over that which is morally and spiritually right. This willingness to embrace what is right over what is wrong, even though it would cost him all his ties to his material family (his father's house) is what set Avram apart from the world, or made him "Qodesh."

It is this same willingness to leave behind the material world and material (family) ties when they conflicted with spirituality that set Avram apart. It is this same "setting apart" from earthly family (when it conflicts with spirituality) that Yahushua (or Yeshua) was alluding to at Mattithyahu (Matthew) 10:34, when He said,

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword (or "division"), [35] for I have come to bring division, a man against his father (like Avram), a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, [36] and a man's enemies are those of his own household. [37] He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. [38] And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. [39] He who has found his life (in Babylon) shall lose it, and he that has lost his life (in Babylon) for My sake shall find it." Mattithyahu (Matthew) 10:34-39

What's your point?

Babylon is a heart condition, but since the inner world is reflected in the outer world, Babylon is also reflected in at least one place upon the physical earth. Just as Avram sojourned out of Babylon into the Good Land in his heart, he also sojourned out of Babylon and in to the Promised Land in the real world. The outer world reflects the inner world. Most Westerners miss this subtle distinction.

But I thought Babylon was in Iraq?

Saddam Hussein is said to be spending untold millions of dollars rebuilding Babylon upon its original foundations. He imagines himself to be the reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar, and perhaps he is, in a sense. YHWH used Nebuchadnezzar against Israel to punish her for her sins, which is seemingly an apt description of what has been going on against Israel (the house of Yahudah) for the past fifty-some years, and what has been taking place against America (the house of Ephraim) for the past several weeks.

Yet just as Nebuchadnezzar was brought low (Daniel 4 and 5) because he allowed his heart to be lifted up, acting proudly (Daniel 5:20), so too will the Islamic world be brought low, once they have fulfilled El Eloah YHWH's purposes.

But what of America?

Many people argue that the Church is Babylon, and there is Scriptural support for this argument. In fact, we are in agreement, but this article is not about that. The question at hand is, "If physical Babylon in Iraq is one literal, physical manifestation of Babylon, could there be another physical place in space called Babylon?"

That is to say, since Babylon is a system of exalting self rather than serving YHWH, could there be a second physical Babylon (besides Iraq), incorporating other spiritual aspects of Babylon, and suffering some of her prophetic fates? To answer that question, one might have to ask, "Is there a land where things of the material realm are valued and esteemed more highly than service to YHWH?"

Many people would say that most countries of the world can be described by the current world economic system of twisted values. We agree with that. And yet, is there one land that promulgates and exemplifies these values more than any other land on earth?

If the physical world reflects the spiritual world, then is there a focal-point, or a center for these value systems of vaunting self over service to the kingdom? Is there an idol, or a "graven image" that represents all these things?

Enough of your hypothesizing. What do the Scriptures say?

If we look to the Scriptures to describe for us who is Babylon, we see a set of criterion that is matched only by America. We see that although historical Babylon is in Iraq, that Iraq is rebuilding historical Babylon, and that Iraq and the Islamic world certainly have a role to play in the Babylonian system of punishment against Israel, there is also a unique set of descriptions about Babylon that are fulfilled only by America.

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 50-51 gives a comprehensive description of Babylon, as well as a rundown of the events that face Babylon in the end time. There are some interesting passages that need to be understood in context of the greater argument, if we are to understand why America is the manifestation of Bavel that will be destroyed.

Yirmeyahu 50:4 "In those days and at that time," declares YHWH," the children of Israel (basically the Christian peoples) shall come, they and the children of Yahudah (basically the Jews) together, weeping as they come, and seek YHWH their Elohim. [5] They shall ask the way to Tsion, their faces toward it, 'Come and let us join ourselves to YHWH, in an everlasting covenant, never to be forgotten.'"

With the Nazarene and Messianic movements growing rapidly and coming in to full flourish both in the Land and abroad, one could say that this passage is either beginning to happen, or will happen very shortly. At the outside, this will happen at some point in the next twenty eight years (Hosea 6:2).

But does Scripture say to actually leave America?

Yirmeyahu 50:8 Flee from the midst of Babel, come out of the land of the Chaldeans. And be as rams before a flock.

YHWH is specific that there will be a specific land that His people will have to come out of. Just as much as we need to come out of the specific heart-condition of Babylon, we will also have to come out of the physical land of Babylon, because the two are essentially inseparable.

After returning from the Land of Israel, I can safely vouch that the spiritual climate in Israel is far superior to the one in the land of America. America is a beautiful place, and it is all I have even known, but it is not now, nor has it ever been, nor will it ever be, the Promised Land.

Heresy!

Yirmeyahu 50:9 For look, I am stirring up and bringing up against Babel an assembly of great nations from a land of the north, and they shall array themselves against her. From there she shall be captured - - their arrows are like those of a mighty skilled man, not returning empty-handed.

These "great nations" are traditionally interpreted to mean Russia, China, and their allies, otherwise thought of as the Gog and Magog of Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 38 and 39. The traditional airflight route for both atomic missiles and airborne troops is over the north pole, thus making China and Russia a "land of the north."

[10] And Chaldea shall become plunder; all who plunder her shall satisfy themselves.

If the Chaldea that is to be plundered is Iraq, how will all those who plunder her satisfy themselves? And yet, if the land to be plundered is America, it is easy to imagine how those from other nations would take great delight in "satisfying themselves" on American wealth.

[12] Your mother shall be greatly ashamed. She who bore you shall be humiliated. Look, the last of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

America is typically reckoned as the last of the nations. The mother of America is England, who has taken part with us in the war against Afghanistan. This passage indicates that the land of England (Britain) will not fare well either.

[13] Because of the wrath of YHWH she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be deserted - - all of it. Everyone passing by Babel shall be astonished and whistle at all her plagues.

YHWH is known to speak in allusion, slang and metaphor, so "she shall not be inhabited" could be either literally, or metaphorically, but either way, it will not be a fun place in which to live.

Even if the alleged "safe areas" that some have "prophesied" are true, they might only be "safe" for a season, perhaps as the staging grounds for the Second Exodus (which we will discuss in an upcoming article).

[23] How the hammer of all the world has been cut off and broken! How Babel has become a ruin among the nations!

I forget which language it is (Spanish?), but one of the nations has a name for America as the "hammer of the world." This is consistent with America's moniker of the "World's Policeman."

[28] Listen! They flee and escape from the land of Babel, to declare in Tsiyon the vengeance of YHWH our Elohim, the vengeance of His Hekal.

Once again, we are to flee not just from the heart condition, but from the land of Babel.

[31] "See, I am against you, O proud one!" declares the Master YHWH of hosts, "for your day has come, the time for your punishment. [32] And the proud one shall stumble, and he shall fall, with no one to raise him up. And I shall kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all around him."

One report I read estimated that Osama Bin Laden may have at his disposal up to some 230 nuclear warheads, probably obtained from the former Soviet Union. I can not confirm that report, but it seems quite possible. Given the porous nature of United States borders over the past many decades (which has not gotten much better, incidentally), it would not be very difficult to imagine how these warheads could have been brought in to America.

If smugglers can bring literally tons of cocaine in through the United States' borders each year, then how difficult could it have been to bring in some back-pack or car-packed megatonnage, armed with a suicide bomber?

[37] A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mixed peoples who are in her midst, and they shall become like women. A sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be plundered.

Which nation on earth does this passage refer to best? Is a reference to "mixed peoples who are in her midst" refer to Iraq? Or does it refer to America(/England)?

[38] A sword is upon her waters, and they shall be dried up. For it is a land of carved images, and they boast about their idols.

This could be a double reference to both Iraq and America. However, America certainly has more waters than Iraq, and America is also the land of carved images, in which the people take great pride (Nike, Chevrolet, television commercials, Saks Fifth Avenue, Levis, etceteras).

[39] Therefore the wild desert beasts shall dwell with the jackals, and the ostriches dwell in it. And it shall never again be inhabited, nor dwelt in, unto all generations.

YHWH often speaks with an artistic flair, as certainly there were some inhabitants (mostly Bedouin) in the good Land while it was prophesied to lie "deserted" and a waste, "without inhabitant," but comparatively speaking it was deserted. It became as nothing like civilization as it was known in Solomon's time, and nothing like we think of it today.

So what are you saying?

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 51:6 Flee from the midst of Babel, and let each one save his life! Do not be cut off in her crookedness, for this is the time of the vengeance of YHWH, the recompense He is repaying her.

If you are blessed with provable Jewish heritage, this might be a good time to consider Aliyah most prayerfully. We will publish another article on this topic later, but prophetically speaking, it may be safer to dwell in the Land than here in America, or anywhere else the Babylonian capitalist system predominates.

[7] Babel was a golden cup in the hand of YHWH, making drunk all the earth. The nations drank her wine, that is why the nations went mad!

If you meditate on it, then the implication is clear. YHWH has used this Babylon as an implement of His will. Babel (America, the temporary homeland of Ephraim) was a golden cup in YHWH's hand. And the nations have drunk of the wine of profits over righteous conduct - - that is why the nations went mad. This Babylon has been a tool of YHWH.

[8] Babel shall suddenly fall and be broken. Howl for her! Take balm for her pain - - if so be, she might be healed.

I have been praying for well over a year that YHWH will show me how to take the balm for her pain...but He has not shown me yet. I will be very glad to have additional prayers go out, that we might be shown how to take this balm for Babylon, that she might be healed.

[9] We would have healed Babel, but she is not healed. Let us leave her and each go to his own land, for her judgment reaches to the heavens and is lifted up into the clouds.

The word for "Lifted up" in the Hebrew is "NASA."

"Each go to his own land" is the subject of much discussion. It may be an indication that we are each to go to the homeland of his own tribe, in which case I can not go anywhere yet, as my tribal homeland (tribe of Gad) is in the Jordan. If that is the case, it would indicate that there is yet time (perhaps as much as twenty-eight years) and a major conflagration in the Middle East before the Second Exodus.

Others may opt to return to ancestral homelands, perhaps in Europe, Africa, Asia, or elsewhere. Whatever you do, consider it prayerfully. Be sure to let the Ruach rule over you, and not vice versa.

I do maintain that for those blessed with provable Jewish ancestry, it may be advantageous to go now, for those who are able to go now, and to rely upon the Hand of YHWH to protect you, as he tells us at Zechariah 14:2

Hey, let's get back to talking about Babylon

[13] You who dwell upon many waters, great in treasures, your end has come, the measure of your greedy gain.

Iraq is a landlocked country. They are not great in treasures. America is a land that dwells upon many waters. And no one exercises greedy gain like America.

[42] The sea has risen over Babel, she has been covered with the roaring of its waves. [43] Her cities have become a ruin, a dry land and a desert, a land where no one dwells, neither does son of man (Yeshua?) pass by it. [44] And I shall punish Bel in Babel. And I shall make him spew out what he has swallowed (profit), and nations shall no longer stream to him. Even the wall of Babel shall fall.

Even the wall of Babel shall fall. A prominent news journal in Britain proclaimed that "Fortress America has been breached."

[45] Come out of her midst, My people! And let each one deliver his being from the burning displeasure of YHWH.

Again, if you are blessed with provable Jewish heritage, this might be an excellent time to make Aliyah. YH willing, we will do a number of pieces to show why it might be far better to go to the Land now, than to go to the Land later.

[53] Though Babel should mount up to the heavens, and though she should make the height of her strength inaccessible, ravagers shall come to her from Me," declares YHWH.

This is pure conjecture, but we are back to the report of the 230 man-pack nuclear warheads. Star Wars won't do much good if the man-packs were already smuggled in to the country before the incident on September 11th.

YHWH shall send the ravagers (fundamentalist Islam). But if YHWH sends the ravagers against Babel, then how is there any defense against them?

Zechariah 2:7 "Oh Tsion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babel!"

Are you sure that America is Babel? Is there more proof?

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 47:7 "And you said, 'I am mistress forever,' so that you did not take these matters to heart, and did not remember the latter end of them.

Just yesterday I was driving in a nearby town and saw a sign saying, "America shall not fall."

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 47:8 "And now, hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who dwells complacently, who says in your heart, 'I am, there is none but me. I do not sit as a widow, nor do I know the loss of children.'"

Who is given to pleasures more than America? Who has secularized the school system? Who says is her heart, "I reign forever"?

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 47:9 "Both of these come upon you suddenly, in one day: the loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you because of your many witchcrafts, for your numerous potent spells. [10] And you have trusted in your evil, you have said, 'No one sees me.' Your wisdom and your knowledge have led you astray. And you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is none but me.'

Once again, secular America worshipping the "All-Mighty" dollar.

47:13 "You are exhausted by your many counsels; let the astrologers, the stargazers, and those who prognosticate by the new moons stand up and save you from what is coming upon you.

"Many counsels" is a reference to democracy, which is unable to take a hard line stand against fanatic Islam, since there are thirteen million Muslims in America. All recent American Presidents have been known to consult astrologers. This was especially prevalent in the Reagan era.

As an ex-divination adept, I can assure you that divination works, at least in the short term. The only thing that does not seem apparent is the long-term cost (ultimately destruction). Divination (astrology, oracles, et al) are a superb deception, because they give the appearance of divine guidance, while actually being Satanic.

What about the other prophets?

Habaqquq 1:6 "See, I am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation, who is going through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs."

This could be a dual reference to both the Islamic world, and to the United States.

Habaqquq 1:7 "They are frightening and fearsome, their right-ruling and their exaltation proceed from themselves."

Another reference to democracy.

Habaqquq 1:10 "And they scoff at sovereigns, and princes are a laughing matter to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for the pile up the earth and seize it."

America literally scoffs at sovereigns, and princes are a laughing matter to us. We have laughed at every stronghold, and are presently trying to bomb Osama bin Laden out of his stronghold in Afghanistan.

OK, OK. So what is Babylon, then? Is it just America? Or is it more than that?

Among other things, Babylon is exemplified by the system of world democracy.

In democracy, the people rule. We like ruling. That sounds good to our fleshly nature.

But the truth is that we are living under a divine dictatorship. YHWH of hosts is our Sovereign, and we are here to serve Him, and not ourselves. YHWH has ordained His manner of priestly government, and in order to fall under his protection, we must submit ourselves to His reign. He will only protect His subjects. That is to say, He will only protect those who are in subjection to Him and His will.

It is hard for Westerners to get used to the idea of serving a King...but we have got no more than twenty-eight years to get used to the idea...possibly a whole lot less.

What else? What else is Babylon?

Babylon is the system of material values over spiritual values, of which America is the foremost proponent. It is the system in which "get" and "take" try to subdue "give" and "serve." Babylon is the system of valuing money over "that which is right."

I need to work on that, of course, but that's obvious. What else is Babylon.

Babylon is a system of religious plurality. Ishtar ("Easter") was a temple prostitute, but she was also considered a goddess that would welcome back other religions from the lands that Babylon (in Iraq) had conquered. She welcomed religious pluralism.

Ishtar ("Easter") was known as the goddess of freedom of religion. She was called "The Mother of Immigrants," the same as we have in America today.

But Babylon depicts not just a heart condition, but an actual, physical land?

Both.

The Statue of Liberty is very much patterned after Ishtar. Her "graven image" was classically depicted as wearing a crown, holding a torch in one hand, and the Book of Hammurabi's Law in the other hand. She was also known as "Diana" to the Greeks (Reference Acts and as "Libertas" to the Romans, from whence the word "Liberty" comes.

Thus the Statue of Liberty is in all actual fact the Graven Image of Libertas (or Ishtar). It does not symbolize or depict submission to YHWH's Scriptural rule, but rather the exaltation or "lifting up" of oneself, so as to say "I am, and there is none but me."

Of course, the Statue of Libertas was sent to America by a couple of European Masons.

Are there other abominations in the land of America?

As you enter the Hudson Harbor in New York, there is an actual New York suburb called Babylon. Prior to Saddam Hussein's rebuilding the Tower of Babel in the last decade or so, Babylon, NY was the only Babylon on earth. As you float in to Hudson Harbor, you can see a banner that says, "Welcome to Babylon."

The Washington Monument is fashioned after an Asherah ("Easter") pole in Babylon.

The Second Temple in Babylon is called the "White House."

Further, the Capitol Building in Washington DC is fashioned after a Babylonian temple.

And finally, there were 42 kings of Israel before Israel was taken in to captivity in Babylon. President Bush is the 43rd sitting President, but if you consider the fact that one of the Presidents before him was elected in to office twice (with a break in service), that makes President Bush the 42nd President.

There are arguments that we have more time, and arguments that we have very little more time. Whatever you do, stay in the Spirit, and follow its lead. Consider all of your actions prayerfully, and listen for the still small voice. But there is strong Scriptural evidence to suggest that we may be safer in the Land, than here in America.
