Earlier today I received a mail with a petition headed “Something Must Be Done” in response to some recent acts of violence in South Africa. This email started:
"DEAR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES
I DON'T NORMALLY PASS THINGS ON BUT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT. ALSO LAST NIGHT A FRIEND OF A FRIEND WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN SHE STOPPED AT AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. A FLOWER SELLER WALKED UP TO THE WINDOW, PULLED A GUN AND SHOT HER THROUGH BOTH HER WRISTS - HER HANDS WAS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AT THE TIME. IT HAS TO STOP!!!!
Hi,
For those of you that do not know, this guy's family was tied up and 5 guys then raped his 14 year old daughter in front of the family. I am not one for petitions, but if we don't do something about law and order, nobody else will. Of course it is only a boring petition until it is your family concerned.

Having found myself caught out on more than one occasion forwarding seemingly genuine mails, only to find out later that they were either months or years old or hoaxes, I had recently reached the point of concluding that I was not going to forward any more.
However, recognizing that I have two teenage daughters and a wife myself and that I have also had some exposure to the inner workings of the Criminal Justice System and Community Police Forums, it seems to me that I must act in some fashion in response to this mail.
So, here goes!
HOWEVER, the question is WHAT?
The problem with email petitions is that the objective of "when there are 1,000 names" is difficult to define. The same list gets multiplied again and again with one name added at the end each time. Thus, unlike the old paper based petitions, the weight of paper is not really a reliable indicator of opinion and I am sure that the Office of the President will also see it that way. DELETE IS ALSO ONLY A MOUSE CLICK AWAY!
It would probably be more effective if each person was to email the office of the President at president@po.gov.za directly with a nice clean mail registering concern.
HOWEVER, having been involved in some aspects of the Community Police Forums and other aspects of the National Crime Prevention Strategy, etc, that STILL presents a problem. The reality is that, as of 1998, there were roughly 25,000 murders a year in South Africa. At the same time there was only prison accommodation with triple bunking and other overloading for approximately 114,000 prisoners. Accordingly, IF all murderers were arrested and accepting the complexities of some people committing more than one murder and more than one person being involved in most murders, as a first approximation, we can take it that there is ONLY PRISON ACCOMMODATION FOR FIVE YEARS PRODUCTION OF MURDERERS assuming that all rapists and all other criminals are released on the streets! This is a major reason why the Police and Justice personnel are so demoralized. It does not matter how well they do their jobs, the arrested and convicted criminal WILL be out on the streets again soon.
FIRSTLY MAY I SUGGEST THAT WE STOP COMPLAINING AND START PROPOSING CONCRETE ACTION?
Part of the answer is to bring back the death penalty: Genesis 9:5-6 states:
5 "Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man.
6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God he made man." (NKJ)
Elsewhere in the Bible Yahweh God has laid down clear procedures in terms of which in the case of murder or manslaughter (deliberate or accidental death), the "avenger of blood" was to seek out the murderer and, provided there were at least two witnesses, the murderer was to be put to death immediately! No doubt the vast majority of citizens would claim that was "barbaric". However, it is HIGH TIME that we recognize that our so-called "civilized" conduct has brought us to this place of total ANARCHY and the more the world departs from the commandments of God and seeks to define it's own laws, the worse the situation becomes.
UNTIL we recognize that Yahweh God, the Creator of the Heavens, the Earth and every living creature INCLUDING MAN, Himself dictated the death penalty for murder and UNTIL we recognize that ever since man has ceased to rigorously honour God's Word, the situation has gotten worse, we cannot expect to see an improvement.
However, as much as calling for the return of the death penalty IS an important step, it is still not going to get to the root of the problem. The morals and ethics of our society are so corrupt that life is viewed as cheap and NOT sacred. Computer and TV Games, TV programs, videos, movies, etc all teach any who will watch, that people can be shot at point blank range with no reason and still survive to reappear in the next episode or next movie! That becomes the reality for many in our society. The same applies to rape, fornication, etc.
May I suggest that if you EVER permit such violence or wrong behaviour to be shown on TV or computer in your home, if you EVER watch it yourself or permit your children to watch it or go to movies where they can watch it. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION!! It is time that those who claim to be disturbed by the sort of mindless violence decried in the mail which prompted this writing take a position of UNWAVERING OPPOSITION to all things that contribute. I am NOT writing about petitions and demonstrations, I am writing about a life style which DEMONSTRATES A RESOLUTE REFUSAL to watch or condone the watching of such acts of violence.
TURN OFF THE TV, throw out the videos, computer games and books!! And encourage your friends to do the same. Refuse to watch the movies. I am not talking about sanctions, I am talking about a decision to change the quality of YOUR life and thereby encourage those around you to change the quality of THEIR lives!
IS THERE MORE WE CAN DO?
UNEQUIVOCALLY YES!!
To every person reading this mail who is truly DISTURBED by the situation, I offer the following challenge:
1. IF YOU CLAIM TO BELIEVE IN YAHWEH GOD, WHETHER YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, A JEW OR A MOSLEM!
If you do NOT believe, then I suggest you skip this section!
BUT IF YOU HAVE EVER PERMITTED SOME STATEMENT TO ISSUE FORTH FROM YOUR LIPS WHICH ACKNOWLEDGES GOD AS BEING GOD, please consider carefully what follows:
It matters not whether you call yourself "Christian" and have, at some time accepted that "Jesus Christ is Lord", or any other derivative of that statement, it matters not whether you are a Jew and know Him as Hashem, YHVH or Yahweh or some other derivative, it matters not whether you are a Moslem and know Him as "Allah" or some other derivative. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT AT SOME TIME YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THAT HE EXISTS AND THAT HE HAS SOME AUTHORITY IN YOUR LIFE!!
That being the case, the Holy Scriptures, and I refer to the Five Books of Moses - the Pentateuch, the Torah, the Tawratt - it matters not what name you use, the Psalms and the Proverbs - it matters not what names you use, lay down ALL THAT WE NEED TO KNOW concerning the fundamental principles of LIFE AND JUSTICE. If we depart from those principles, we depart from LIFE and we should not be surprised if anarchy results. Those principles have been fundamental to every stable society from the beginning of time, they were fundamental to African society before the White Man came!!
WE MUST RETURN TO GOD'S WAY OF DOING THINGS BUT, BEFORE WE CAN DO THAT, WE MUST RETURN TO GOD / YAHWEH / ALLAH, Christian, Jew or Moslem -- all worship the same God!
If, as a Christian, you have been taught that Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) came to do away with the death penalty, then ask yourself why Paul, in Acts 25:11 says "For if I am an offender, or have committed anything deserving of death, I do not object to dying;" (NKJ) Jesus fulfilled the LAW (Torah) He did not abolish it!!
For too long those who claim to serve Yahweh God and the Messiah, Yahshua (Jesus) have neglected the Word of God concerning crime. Only the Moslem people have been faithful to His Word in anything approaching all respects. IT IS TIME FOR ALL TO REPENT AND TURN TO YAHWEH GOD for deliverance. It is time that we choose LIFE and NOT death.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20:
19 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
20 "that you may love Yahweh [the LORD] your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; ...." (NKJ)
In order to do that we must turn to Him and seek him in PRAYER, morning, noon and night!
If you are not sure whether you believe in God or Jesus anymore, but once you thought you did, then mail me privately at james@end-time-issues.org.za and I will share with you solid, ENGINEERING STABLE facts that will prove to anyone who sincerely wants to know, that Yahweh God IS ALIVE and that Yahshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) IS His Son and died on the Cross to take our sins and that our prayers might be answered.
If you DO know that He is real but don't understand what is going on, then understand, JUDGMENT HAS COME UPON THE WORLD for our great iniquity.
The War in Israel IS JUDGMENT on Israel, it is foretold in Ezekial, there is every reason to expect millions to die.
The financial lack, ill health, etc of most who claim the name "Christian" is a consequence of JUDGMENT on the church - remember, not one hair of your head will be harmed UNLESS there is unrepented sin in your life.

IF THERE IS NO SIN IN YOUR LIFE YOU WILL WALK IN THE FURNACE AND YOUR CLOTHES WILL NOT BE SINGED (Daniel 3), this murder and destruction WILL NOT TOUCH YOU, so IF YOU FEAR IT, know this -- YOUR LIFE IS NOT RIGHT WITH GOD!
2. IF YOU CLAIM ALLEGIANCE TO NO GOD OR A PANOPLY OF GOD'S OR YOU REALLY DO NOT KNOW
In this matter, there are only two options. Either you KNOW that you know that Yahweh God IS GOD or you don't. In other words, either you believe in Him or you don't. If you don't KNOW whether you believe or not, then you DON'T believe and you are an unbeliever. I am not being impolite, I am simply stating fact - you don't believe!
For the sake of this mail, it matters not whether you are a believer or an unbeliever. Either way, IT IS VITAL THAT SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT THE SPIRALING CRIME RATE!!
Accordingly, given that the Bible clearly sets out to those who believe that it IS God's Living Word a set of clear cut parameters for dealing with this problem and contains NUMEROUS case histories to demonstrate that these parameters work, I ask those who DO NOT BELIEVE in Yahweh God, to define what process and procedure it is that they have that WILL work.
If you are an atheist or an agnostic or subscribe to some other religion or belief set. That is YOUR CHOICE. It is NOT for me to condemn your choice. All I can do is state what I know with absolute conviction to be true, which I have done in the previous section to those who believe.
Since I am able to write with such absolute conviction about what I believe and CAN ATTEST FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of the reality of what I write about, I must assume that you can do likewise? Otherwise you would not believe what you believe and would be seeking to find the true God?
Let me offer you some pointers against which it seems prudent to me that anyone who claims that Yahweh God, the Father of Yahshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) is not God, should consider.
We live in a world of utmost majesty and complexity. We do not fully comprehend the workings of our bodies, this planet on which we live or the entire Universe. We certainly do not know any person who knows, today AND HAS SUCCESSFULLY PROVEN THEIR ABILITY, to manufacture a human being, a flea, the planet earth or a sun and moon!
We are told that all these things EVOLVED!! In other words, by a series of random events, gases and solids which came from ..... nowhere? .... progressively arranged themselves into great order to create a universe, a solar system, a planet, a one celled organism and finally a human being.
We are told that man started out as a primitive ape man who has systematically "pulled himself up by his boot laces" so to speak, to reach the "pinnacle" of civilization represented by mankind today!
BUT somehow, something has gone wrong - the process has now gone haywire, seemingly, because in the last generation the random process of self improvement has gone into REVERSE?
It seems that instead of becoming more civilized we have become less civilized. Shooting a woman through both wrists at a traffic light does not seem to be progress, does it? Nor does raping a 14 year old girl?
Consider the book in the Bible known as Daniel, known to have been written AT LEAST 1,500 years ago - there are existing manuscripts that old. Translated into English AT LEAST 500 years ago. In Daniel chapter 3, verse 19 to 22 it states:
19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
20 And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore, because the king's command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. (NKJ)
PLEASE CONSIDER CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING:
a) To be able to specify that the furnace should be heated SEVEN times hotter implies instruments to MEASURE and sophisticated process control to manage.
b) Since the furnace was so hot that the men who went to the mouth of the furnace were killed, this was not a charcoal brazier, this was a furnace with the heat of an arc furnace or equivalent! A temperature of well over 1,000 degrees Celsius is almost certainly indicated!
c) To generate such a massive heat source to kill strong men like that implies MASSIVE ENERGY INPUT, probably only possible with a massive ELECTRIC ARC furnace or equivalent!
d) BUT this was written at LEAST 1,500 years ago - so either the man who wrote it was having MASSIVE HALLUCINATIONS, had a GREAT IMAGINATION or there was something that existed in his age we don't know about?
e) Furthermore! They were thrown into the furnace for refusing to worship a gold idol roughly ninety feet (thirty meters) tall. It is highly debatable that even today we could construct AND ERECT a 30 m high GOLD statue. It would certainly require massive cranes and other resources and enormous quantities of Gold. It would probably have been impossible 200 years ago! But the book was TRANSLATED 500 years ago!
f) I could go on and on, who built the Great Pyramid at Giza with such amazing precision? The massive stone structures in South America and elsewhere? The world maps over 1,500 years old which chart the boundaries of the Antarctic continent WITHOUT ICE!! Etc, etc.
Genesis 1:27 states "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (NKJ)
God CREATED MAN IN GOD'S IMAGE. Man was of great physical stature, great intellect, great ability. The first men lived to nearly a 1,000 years of age. They constructed dramatic structures and possessed sophisticated technology. The furnace of Daniel 3 was a remnant of the glorious technology that existed in the first days! I am in possession of a book and video which convincingly report these findings!
BUT, as man slipped further and further into sin and depravity he became progressively weakened until we are left today with the sorry state of mankind as we know it. Over the centuries, depravity, murder, rape, etc have gone in cycles. From time to time, man has turned to God to some limited extent and there has been revival and renaissance. The most recent instance started with Martin Luther over 500 years ago.
Today, we stand on the brink of certain destruction, as with Sodom and Gomorrah and as with the Flood of Noah's time (by the way, we have video's showing in detail the remains of the Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the Red Sea Crossing site with chariot remains on the sea bed). UNLESS WE TURN TO GOD.

The conclusion?
Well, for my money, there is ONLY ONE.
It is time that each one of us chooses to accept Yahweh God as GOD.
For those who are of Jewish, Moslem or other background who cannot accept that Jesus Christ could possibly be who he claims to be, because of all the mindless atrocities committed in that name, I ask you to consider that there was a man Yahshua, the Messiah, who lived 2,000 years ago. His name was translated into Greek and that name has been used and abused for nearly 2,000 years and with it, who He really is has been lost and perverted to most on this planet. As one who calls on the name of Jesus Christ, I repent of all the sin that has been committed by my forefathers in the faith, and I ask YOU TO FORGIVE ME AND THEM.
BUT I also ask you to put aside your justifiable indignation and prejudice against a religion which is so sullied and corrupt that even it's Creator hardly recognizes it today (Refer "The Final Quest" by Rick Joyner - pp. 135-6). Do NOT LOOK TO MEN, seek Yahweh God, the Father and His Son, the Messiah, Yahshua, for they are seeking you at this hour!
NO MATTER WHAT POSITION YOU FIND YOURSELF IN TODAY, I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND AN INVITATION TO YOU
